Hasan A. Baloch, M.D.

Dr. Baloch was raised in North Carolina and completed his undergraduate training at UNC-Chapel Hill. He completed his medical school at St.George's University School of Medicine. His adult psychiatry training was at VCU-MCV in Richmond, Virginia. He completed his child and adolescent psychiatry training at the University of Maryland in Baltmore, MD.

During the course of his training he has evaluated and treated the gamut of psychiatric conditions with patients from a diverse background. He worked in numerous settings including state hospitals, residential treatment centers, substance abuse clinics, outpatient clinics, and inpatient wards. He has treated patients form a variety of backgrounds whether from inner city Baltimore to the suburbs, from CEOs to preschoolers, and feels comfortable with a diverse patient population.

After his training he was the medical director of the Pediatric Bipolar Clinic at the Center for Excellence in the Research and Treatment for Bipolar Disorder at UNC. He continues to have an active interest in this condition and is involved in ongoing research at UNC looking at the pharmacologic treatment of bipolar disorder and the metabolic ramifications of some of these treatments.
